Organ Recital

An Organ Recital will take place on Saturday 22 June 7:00pm after evening Mass with talks, slides and music from some of the world’s largest instruments. The bar will be open in the hall before and after. Admission free – donations towards our Organ Fund.

St. Aidan’s Organ Fund.
Information about the organ recital is on the back page of this newsletter. Donations will be put towards the Church Organ Fund. When we bought the new organ a year ago we decided to create a fund to cover a proportion of the cost. The Finance committee and the parish council set a fundraising target of £4,500. So far with individual donations we have raised over £2,000, so we are half way there. Any donations should be made payable to the parish account: ‘St Aidan’s Church’. Donations can potentially be gift-aided.

You will recall that we had to purchase the organ at the time we did because spare parts were no longer available for the old one and it had malfunctioned at a funeral Mass. Currently the new organ is played at funerals, weddings and special occasions but we do not have a regular organist or pianist. If anyone knows of anyone who would assist us in this respect please speak to Fr. Peter. Modern electronic organs can be played by a pianist.
