The Parish Pastoral Council held its fourth Zoom meeting during lockdown on 20th July; we began as usual with an opening prayer.
The arrangements for the reopening of the church for Mass appear to be going well and we thank all parishioners for their patience and understanding. Please remember everyone needs to pre-register or bring their registration details to every mass they attend. The numbers attending are manageable at the moment but as more people return to the church and if the current regulations remain in place we will need to develop a better process than the current first in first admitted policy. The volunteer stewards and cleaners are doing a great job but it would help enormously if there were more of them. We would welcome more volunteers.
Our financial position remains a concern, as more people return to mass we would hope to see the offertory bring in some welcome revenue. Do not forget you can donate via JustGiving at any time, visit the website and click on the JustGiving icon on the home page
Fr Peter bought the meeting to a close with a final prayer with special mention of those people suffering from, or being affected by, the Coronavirus in any way.
The next Zoom meeting of the Parish Council will be in a month’s time on 24th August 2020.
We would be pleased to hear from members of the parish on any subject. Please speak to any member of the Council, drop a letter into the sacristy or contact Gerry via odonnellgerry@outlook.com.
The PPC members are, Fr. Peter, Sue Carr, Pauline D’Mello-Maplesden, Brenda Eydman, Roque Fernandes, Bernadette Hallett, Bridget Hanlon, Penne Hutton, Peter McFall, Erica Thurbon, Gerry O’Donnell, Elsie Ofili and Colin Wilding.
