The Parish Pastoral Council held its second Zoom meeting of the year on 18th February; we began as usual with an opening prayer.
We discussed the reopening of the church for public worship from Monday 22nd. We agreed on a gradual and phased reopening as we are not sure what the response will be. Please see the website for Mass times. All services will continue to be live streamed. We also discussed the need for a booking system for the Easter services similar to the system we used for Christmas. More information to follow.
Peter McFall invited the members to respond to the 2020 financial report that had been published the previous weekend. He highlighted the 2020 figures and compared them to 2019. Not unsurprisingly there was a significant drop in our income. However, this impact was mitigated somewhat by the parishioners who have taken out standing orders during lockdown as well as by those who already contributed in that way. There was also gratitude expressed to those who kept up with cash contributions as well as those who made special donations. A standing order is great way to support the parish, if you would like to start one please contact Peter McFall on coulsdontreasurer@rcaos.org.uk Do not forget you can donate via JustGiving at any time, visit the website and click on the JustGiving icon on the home page.
Fr Peter brought the meeting to a close with a final prayer with special mention of those people suffering from, or being affected by, Coronavirus in any way.
We would be pleased to hear from members of the parish on any subject. Please speak to any member of the Council, drop a letter into the sacristy or contact Gerry via odonnellgerry@outlook.com.
